We have been waiting with much anticipation for the hippest new neighborhood to open right here in the heart of the District. City Center DC has been the talk amongst all of Washington DC’s foodies and fashionistas. Their vibrant urban atmosphere has it all; from a mix of high-end shops and restaurants, to apartments, condominiums, office buildings and a beautiful common area to boot.
CityCenter’s location is perfection and easy, accessible parking plus two of the city’s busiest Metro stations nearby, is just icing on the cake. Convenience is king for us, so having multiple options to get to this shopping destination is a huge plus for us.
We have been loving all of the luxury stores that have been popping up and have recently been frequenting Burberry, Kate Spade, and Longchamp and really looking forward to the opening of Dior and Hermes! Our husbands may not be as excited…
After a long day of shopping, it’s necessary to find a nice relaxing spot to sit and ponder on your fabulous purchases. And we found a quaint little coffee and pastry shop to do such pondering in.
Rare Sweets has the most welcoming, friendly staff, cutest decor, and is located right in the heart of CityCenterDC, so it is almost hard to miss. We decided to treat ourselves to their frothy cappuccinos and we split a yummy lemon and ginger cake.
Both were exactly what we needed on a cold day of winter shopping.
We will be heading back to Rare Sweets the next time we need to satisfy our sugar fix.
There are already so many great things about CityCenterDC that we have mentioned and we haven’t even gotten to the restaurants yet! DBGB Kitchen and Bar and Del Frisco’s are currently open for business and we are anticipating the opening of Fig & Olive and Momofuku Noodle Bar which are both coming soon. Being ramen obsessed, this is just another reason why we are so excited about this area.
DBGB Kitchen and Bar was another restaurant we had heard astonishing reviews about so we were beyond thrilled when they opened in CityCenterDC. When we saw that this highly rated French- American restaurant had actually opened when we were shopping we were excited to finally try them out!
We enjoyed the most delicious brunch on New Year’s day to kick off the New Year. Probably the best decision we have made in 2015 thus far. The staff was delightful, knowledgeable and the food hit the spot.
We had The Yankee Burger and the chop chop salad with chicken and both were extremely satisfying.
We encourage everyone to head to DBGB for brunch, lunch or a nice dinner out and make sure you cheers to the new year with one of their delicious bloody marry’s!
CityCenter has so much to offer and they keep growing! They really have curated the ultimate shopping, dining, and living experience that the DC area has to offer.
Make sure to check it out next time you are in the District, we promise it won’t disappoint.
